Update July 23, 2026

Hamel Family:

We hope everyone is excited about getting together on Friday July 31.

The majority of attendees will be at the dinner Friday night (65), so even if you have other plans Friday, stop in to say hello!

Now that we are closer to the event, we are setting up a couple of events on Saturday:

Mae Ross will be collecting names that wish to participate in a mini-golf 18 holes tournament (prizes) (mini-golf $12). Starting time will be 1:00pm at Tuxedo Golf Course. The facility is about 1km from the event house. After golf, head back to the event house for some food/swim.

Contact Mae at gilemae@gmail.com to join the fun. (Can sign up Friday night.)

Gail Kennedy will be collecting names of anyone who wish to play 18 holes of regular golf (golf $48 plus $48 for cart) . Gail will make up foursomes once we have a final tally. Tee times will be starting at 10:00am Saturday at Tuxedo Golf Course. After golf, head back to the event house for some food/swim. (Sign up by Wednesday July 29).

Contact Gail at gail@rjkmanagement.ca to sign up.

Everyone is welcome at all three events, even if you previously said you could not make it.

Update - April 7, 2026
Well, it is almost spring and less than 4 months to our Hamel Family Reunion! Hope everyone is well and looking forward to the reunion.
We have some very good news! We have a sponsor that has agreed to cover the cost for all the food for the two dinners and Sunday brunch. In addition, Friday and Saturday wine and beer are also included in the sponsorship.
On Friday, come early for dinner if you are in town anytime after 4:00 pm. (Dinner from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm - casual – BBQ – hamburgers, hot dogs, smokies). On Saturday, for those not participating in any outside activities, come anytime after 2:00 pm. (Dinner on Saturday from 6:00 pm until 10:00 am - casual – salads, beef/chicken on a bun, veggies). The Sunday Bruch will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
There are several opportunities on the weekend for extra curricular activities, including golf, visits to Winnipeg Zoo, Human Rights Museum and The Leaf in Assiniboine Park: A Top Canadian Horticultural & Architectural Attraction.
We will send out an email shortly asking if there is interest in some of the opportunities and organize accordingly. Also, we will advise of the location of the reunion.
Just a reminder, if your circumstances have changed, let us know (will attend/potential/etc). The entire Hamel Family is more than welcome, including children and grandchildren.
